Have you ever played through pain or struggled with an injury?

Through my many years spent playing soccer and weight training, I know all too well what it’s like to struggle with an injury and to be sidelined with frustration. I would be happy to share my story with you and explain more about how chiropractic care can help you. I chose chiropractic for multiple reasons. I wanted the ability to treat my community naturally.

Through my many years spent playing soccer and weight training, I know all too well what it’s like to struggle with an injury and to be sidelined with frustration. I would be happy to share my story with you and explain more about how chiropractic care can help you.

The Road to Chiropractic

I chose chiropractic for multiple reasons. I wanted the ability to treat my community naturally. I grew up playing multiple sports including: soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, and cross country, ultimately playing soccer at the collegiate level. My success in athletics stems from a strong upbringing and background in the natural approach to health. My father and grandfather are both doctors of chiropractic and with their treatments my career was able to flourish with minimal injuries. I personally benefited from chiropractic, and I believe any athlete or weekend warrior can have an edge on their competition with chiropractic care. So I guess you could say, I chose a chiropractic lifestyle due to my personal experience and by witnessing how it has helped others.

Chiropractic Education

Like many young adults, I went to college with a dream. My dream was to be a professional soccer player. I was fortunate enough to play two seasons at WTA & MU before that dream ended and reality set in. During that time my major was Health Sciences and I thought like my father and grandfather, I too would pursue a career in chiropractic. Little did I know that the 8am Biology classes were a must, and I was not a morning person. I elected to go with a more natural approach to my career and started pursuing a major in political science. It was shortly after this decision that I met my future wife and moved to Lubbock, TX, to finish my undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University. Again, like most college students I changed my major. This time it was the last time and back to Health Sciences. I finished my undergraduate studies in the spring of 2005, and started chiropractic school in the fall of the same year. The courses I found most interesting were courses such as biochemistry, clinical nutrition, physiology, and pathology. One of the most inspirational professors in my education was Ron Grabowski, DC RD. His class, clinical nutrition, was one of the hardest classes in the curriculum. It was one of the classes you heard rumors about before you took it, were more students failed than passed. His passion and knowledge regarding nutrition is one of the most highly respected across the field of nutrition. His lectures inspired my desire to treat and advance patient’s health not only with chiropractic but with the proper nutritional support, at the cellular level.

Chiropractic Philosophy

My chiropractic philosophy is simple, “every patient is a chiropractic patient, however, right now may not be that time.” You see, everyone has a spine and everyone has stress. That stress may be emotional, physical, chemical, or psychological, but it doesn’t matter, it affects us the same. Chiropractic is about balancing that stress. Balancing function and performance, and no one is better at balancing the neuromusculoskeletal system than doctors of chiropractic.

On a Personal Note…

I have been married for 8 years to my lovely wife Kendra. We have three amazing children; Korbin, Kierly, and Kambry Jo. All three of our children are active in sports, fun loving, and spirited. They keep my wife and I very busy! My time away from practice is devoted to them and their success. We attend Hillside Christian Church, were we lead our small group and volunteer regularly. I am an avid bass player and hunter. When I am not with my family, you can find me playing my bass or walking a field. I believe “there is no better hunt, than one behind a good dog”, and I have a black lab that also shares that philosophy.

My wife says “healthy, healthy, healthy…..with a bit of healthy.” I workout 4-5 days per week, eat a very specific amount of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats to maintain an active healthy lifestyle. I receive chiropractic manipulations weekly to semimonthly, depending on how rigorous my life has been. As a third generation chiropractor, I was not vaccinated; however, I believe that choice is a freedom we all have. Personally, my wife and I have taken it one child at a time.
